Middle East Medievalists would like to express their deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Professor Franz Rosenthal (1914-2003), Sterling Professor Emeritus of Near Eastern Languages & Civilzations at Yale University who passed away on Tuesday, 8 April 2003 at the age of 88.

Professor Rosenthal was an Honorary MEMber of Middle East Medievalists.
