Proposals for panels on medieval
Islamic history (600-1500) are invited. Middle East Medievalists intends to
sponsor up to three panels at the Thirty-Ninth Annual International Congress on
Medieval Studies, to be held on the campus of Western Michigan University in
Kalamazoo, MI on May 6-9, 2004. Panels may be on any subject in medieval Islamic
History, but topics of interest to a wide variety of medieval historians are
especially encouraged.
Respondents should supply name and organizational affiliation of organizer or
presider, as well as of up to four presenters. The session must have a title,
but it is not necessary to provide final paper titles at this time.
Acceptance of the panel as a MEM
sponsored event depends on the agreement of the MEM Board and the organizers of
the Congress.
Please note: The deadline for
submission of session proposals is MAY 15, 2003, so time is VERY limited (in
future years more lead time will be given).
Interested parties should contact Middle East Medievalists MEMber Professor Adam
Sabra at the address below as soon as possible.
